Crafting a Perceived Lifestyle Experience Through Design
Born in Spain and based in Italy, Patricia Urquiola is one of the most influential figures in contemporary design. Her work spans architecture, interiors, and furniture, reshaping the language of modern design with her signature “soft touch.”

In September 2025, Urquiola collaborated with Lamar Development to unveil a landmark residential project in Madrid. This marks the designer’s first residential interior project in her home country, featuring 22 exclusive residences.

True luxury is not measured by scale or cost, but by the tranquility and sense of belonging a space imparts. Lamar Development operates on the core principle of “design-driven development.” Rather than pursuing mass expansion, the firm treats real estate and urban renewal as a form of art. With high-end projects across Dubai, Greece, and Spain, they collaborate with world-renowned masters to create unique spatial narratives.

Located in the historic heart of Madrid, Casa Lamar was once a traditional urban building with a storied facade. Lamar Development preserved the city’s historical fabric while injecting a new rhythm for contemporary living.

Urquiola’s intervention goes beyond mere renovation; it is a re-narration of the “home.” Rather than hiding the traces of time, she weaves delicate modernity into the old structure, allowing light and material to dictate the generation of space.

Upon entering, one is greeted not by opulence, but by a rhythmic serenity. Urquiola uses flexible structures to reorganize movement. The living room, dining area, and corridors permeate one another, with walls gently “cut” by light to create depth. Featuring warm wood-paneled walls and soft lighting, the space feels quiet yet rhythmic. The furniture layout is fluid, reflecting a meticulous consideration of spatial circulation.

Connected seamlessly to the living room, it features custom marble tables and wooden chairs. Refined lighting and curated artwork add layers of artistic texture to the intimate atmosphere. A blend of functionality and aesthetics, utilizing high-quality stone countertops and warm wood cabinetry. The open layout enhances interaction between the culinary and social spaces.

The staircase serves as a visual centerpiece with its sculptural, curved form. The choice of warm timber and soft integrated lighting showcases Urquiola’s obsession with detail.

Spacious and poetic, the bedrooms feature headboards made of soft fabric and wood. Natural light filters in, creating a gentle play of shadows that fosters a restful environment.

The bathroom and spa areas utilize high-quality stone and wooden ceilings to evoke a private sanctuary. The indoor pool area features clean lines where water merges with the stone environment.

A lush green escape offering panoramic views of Madrid. With soft outdoor sofas and curated landscaping, it provides a gentle transition between the private home and the vibrant city.

The landmark property combines architectural quality, curated amenities, and enduring value — making it equally compelling for private clients and global investors.
